Public speaking is one of the most common fears around, but Google has a new tool to make it a little less intimidating.
An update to Google Slides has added a feature that enables you to solicit questions from audience members. Dubbed Slides Q&A, the update — which is rolling out worldwide — helps you to more easily connect with your audience while also gathering real-time feedback.
A link displayed on a Slides presentation enables your audience members to enter the URL to submit questions from their phones, laptops and tablets. They can also vote on the questions they want answered the most.
“Public speaking can be intimidating—even for veteran speakers with phenomenal ideas and experiences to share,” Google said in a blog post.
“Slides Q&A makes it easy to interact with your audience—without having to worry about mics or moderators. Slides also helps you get your big ideas and stories on screen—without having to worry about wires or set up stress.”
As part of the update, you can also now present your slides to a Hangout from your iPhone or iPad. Using the Slides app via your phone or tablet, you can present to any screen using Chromecast, AirPlay or Hangouts.
The Slides updates are available on Android, iOS and the Web.
